March 9, 2010 - Dennisport - One man is dead after a single-vehicle car accident on Saturday night in Dennisport. According to reports in The Cape Cod Times, 23-year-old Michael Desimone was killed when he lost control of his car, which drove down an embankment and crashed into a tree near Depot Street.
The fatal car accident occurred around 11:30 p.m., and severely damaged the vehicle. First responders said Desimone was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Desimone was the only occupant of the vehicle and no other injuries were reported.
According to local residents, the area where the car crash occurred has been the site of several serious car accidents due to the winding nature of the road. The area has seen a number of vehicle crashes in the past few years, including the 2008 accident that killed 24-year-old Jacob Gibbs. Police are still investigating the crash, and an accident reconstruction team with the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement will attempt to determine what caused Desimone to lose control of his vehicle.
