Parents of Danvers Teen Hit by Truck Report Improvement
February 8, 2009 - Danvers - The parents of a teenager who was hit by a cement truck in Danvers last week report that the boy is healing well. Police have also released the name of the driver who hit the boy, 62-year-old Ronald Olsen, who works for Benevento Concrete Corp. The investigation is still ongoing, and it is currently unclear if charges will be filed in this pedestrian accident.
According to reports in the Boston Globe, 17-year-old Mike Philbrook was hit around 7 a.m. as he crossed Maple Street on foot. His parents told the Danvers Herald that Philbrook is expected to make a full recovery. Philbrook suffered a broken pelvis and lacerations, but his parents report that he has no other broken bones or serious injuries, and he is in "good spirits." Philbrook was treated at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a student at North Shore Vocational School, where administrators scheduled counseling sessions for students.
