
March 9, 2010 - Waltham - Five cars were involved in a serious multi-car pileup in Waltham on Saturday. As reported by the Daily News Tribune, 51-year-old Michael Gallant lost control of his Toyota Camry on Route 128. After impacting a guardrail and coming to a stop on the freeway, several vehicles crashed into Gallant's vehicle and each other.
Gallant is already facing several charges stemming from the car accident, including driving with a suspended driver's license. Police have not said if Gallant was under the influence of alcohol during the crash, but they continue to investigate that possibility. Michael Gallant suffered extensive personal injuries, and he is currently in serious condition at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.
Two other people were injured in this multi-car accident, including 39-year-old Vicki Pardallis and 52-year-old Cecila Cohen. Both women were driving in separate vehicles, and they were transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Both victims are expected to survive. The other drivers involved were not injured in the crash. Police continue to investigate what caused this serious car accident.
