What Our Peers Say About Us

I feel very comfortable with this law firm because when I call I actually talk with a lawyer. This is most important when I have questions. Whenever I have a question, I call them and they take care of the entire situation. I’ve called Andy on several occasions and he has returned my call the same day. I’ve dealt with other lawyers and after I called them, two weeks later I was still calling them. These lawyers are very pleasant, very smart and they know what they’re doing. I have no complaints about how they’re handling my case. I will definitely refer other clients to them. They’re very unusual because they work for ordinary people. They fight for the little guy. They seem to help out the little guys who don’t understand the terminology being thrown around. Big companies know they can confuse people. I highly recommend this firm to anyone who has a problem.”

This law firm has done a good job for us. They are fair, upstanding, honest people. And you can’t say that about many lawyers these days. The work they do is specific and they’re doing the right thing. I have referred quite a number of people to them, or told people about them. They remind me of David fighting Goliath.”

“I’ve been involved in two cases with this firm and I can tell you these lawyers are nice, young, smart attorneys — real go-getters. They are not afraid of anyone and they are always willing to take a fresh look at any legal matter.

When I first spoke with Andrew, my case involved commercial insurance coverage. He told me I did not have a good case and that he couldn’t do anything for me. Still, he said he would work on my case hourly if I wanted to hire him. Andrew really went the extra mile. He found a case on point, talked with the insurance company representative, and resolved the case far better than he or I ever imagined.

My other case involved a long distance phone company. The company suddenly started sending me higher bills. They said they would correct the billing problem, but never did. Finally I reached the point where we were going to have some kind of legal activity. I took all my letters and documents to Carlin Phillips because I learned of his interest in class action lawsuits. He smiled big and said he would look into it. Suddenly, everything stopped. I received no more bills from the company. Nothing. Now we have a class action lawsuit pending against the long distance phone company. The lawyers in this firm are down to earth people who always make you feel comfortable, like family. They work hard, they’re nice and they always help me.

“I was looking for a law firm that would be responsive to my client’s needs and for a lawyer who was successful in class action litigation. I had heard and read good things about Andy’s firm. He responded promptly to my request for a meeting and was very accommodating. Andy established a very good relationship with the client that we work for. The client was nervous about getting into the legal arena. Andy was kind and personable and quickly put the client at ease. He made her feel comfortable in the legal setting. Andy has done an excellent job at keeping the client and me informed. Plus he is always available and promptly returns phone calls. Andy did very good quality legal research on this particular case and spent quite a bit of time researching the factual background of the case. When they went to federal court, they were very well prepared. Today, we have a good size class action suit pending. I would not hesitate to refer other clients to these lawyers.”

“I was one of nearly 6,000 people in a class action lawsuit against Hurley State Bank for taking advantage of consumers and ripping people off. At the end of case, I received a check for $20.19. I thought the amount should have been much more so I called and spoke with Andrew.

He listened carefully to what I said, even though I was just one small voice in the wilderness. He emphasized that he was representing me and that I was always welcome to call. He made me feel real good. Whenever I called, Andrew accepted my call or returned my call promptly.

Andrew thought something might not be right in the settlement so he said he would look into it. One week later he called and asked me to hang in there and be patient. He said he had to contact the other party’s attorney and then wade through 9,000 pages of paper.

As one person in 6,000, he could have easily blown me off. But he never stopped working for me. Even though the case had settled, he went back and talked with the other side’s attorney. They reopened the case and found paperwork they had not previously seen. They confirmed I had more money coming and sent me a new check, substantially greater than the first.

It would have been easy for someone thousands of miles away not to do anything, especially since the case had already settled. But Andrew was sincerely concerned about getting the correct result and doing it right. If I need a class action lawyer again, I would be happy to hire Andrew’s firm. I’m really glad these lawyers were there to help us out. I owe them. They walk their talk. And they get results.”

“Kudos for Carlin Phillips. Carlin found me from my Web site about two years ago. I’m in the business of auditing managed care contracts. We review managed care administration for hospitals, doctors and self-insured employers to determine whether these providers have been properly dealt with by their payors. When we run into a problem, like one I’m working on now, I develop the information and then recommend that my client bring a class action lawsuit.

We are working with Carlin and his associate in Chicago to develop class action suits against Silent PPOs. He has two lawsuits in Massachusetts favorable to his position saying Silent PPOs are strictly illegal and should not be pursued. In addition, I’m using this law firm for my own legal work and found them extremely effective and extremely efficient.

These lawyers understand the medical field and can talk the language. When you talk with them, you don’t have to explain what you’re saying. You get down to the nuts and bolts in a real hurry. I’m delighted with this law firm. I refer everybody with whom I come in contact who has legal medical problems to this firm, no matter where they are in the country.”

“I’m a health care attorney. I’ve been involved in the health care field for 26 years. Now, I work on collection matters for Massachusetts medical providers. I met Carlin Phillips at a meeting where he was the featured speaker. In spite of his youth, Carlin demonstrated a real strong knowledge of health care law and litigation of health care issues. He is a very impressive speaker.

Since then, I’ve kept in contact because I could tell Carlin and the other lawyers in their firm would become leaders in their field. I’m glad that Carlin and his firm are out there looking out for interests that get overridden by the power of insurance companies.

I am really impressed with their firm. They are not afraid of large insurance companies. They are brave in the ways they approach class actions and willing to take on all comers.

I continue to keep in touch with Carlin. He is a nice guy, a good person to know, and he’s a leader — an icebreaker in the health care field. Carlin’s law firm fights for things that are important to all health care attorneys.

It’s so pleasant and invigorating to work with Carlin and his partners. They don’t seem like attorneys. They’re really nice to deal with. I have a lot of respect for Carlin and his firm.

I’m very impressed with the direction Carlin’s office is going and their willingness to take on these issues. I admire them for dealing with large controversies, particularly against insurance companies. Even in cases where liability is clear, the insurance companies’ delays are amazing. It’s difficult to take on the Goliath in the insurance industry. I think it’s wonderful that Carlin and his partners are taking them on.”
